Day 1

• Overview of Aspen ICARUS design, estimating, and scheduling technology
• Introduction to Aspen Kbase concepts
• Prepare and use a new basis
• Specify Process Equipment
• Enter specifications from an equipment list


Day 2

• Define, arrange, and import areas
• Include proprietary equipment in a Project Estimate
• Specify major plant bulk components
• Adjust system-developed material costs using the indexing feature
• Specify utility piping and stations early in the project
• Specify a Control Building
• Define components from a plot plan


Day 3

• Define a Process Control system
• Define a Power Distribution system
• Use custom pipe specifications to define piping
• Revise installation on process equipment
• Use the Installation Option feature to include spares and demolition in a project


Day 4

• Define a Contract Structure
• Assign scope of work to defined contractors
• Define Engineering
• Utilize the project schedule and equipment rental features
• Include unique unit costs in an estimate
• Develop and utilize unique equipment models
• Review project trending reports
