Job Description:
|
FUNCTION: To manage and technically direct the process design of the project.
PURPOSE: To ensure that the process design meets the Client’s technical and engineering specifications as well as all relevant statutory obligations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Overall technical direction and approval of the process design of all materials and equipment required including process calculations, data sheets, flow-sheets, manuals, studies and reports. b) Control of the process team to ensure adherence to programme and man-hour control requirements. c) Administration requirements for the project including:
- Maintenance of the document control procedures and systems - Ensuring control turnaround documents are completed in accordance with project requirements. - Ensuring holds diaries are maintained. - Ensuring satisfactory filing and retrieval systems are set up for use by the discipline and for maintenance of long term records. - Ensuring that suitable flow sheet change notices and approval systems are initiated, maintained and followed up by all process personnel. - Ensuring that inputs to progress reports are issued in accordance with project requirements. d) Provide adequate notice of required changes to staffing levels to Project Manager. e) Liaison with other disciplines, to ensure all process requirements are met. f) Initiating and monitoring Quality Assurance requirements of project procedures. g) Attend regular design review meetings with Project Manager and Lead Engineers. h) Supervises the activities of the safety and environmental engineer. ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Lead Process Engineer has overall responsibility to the Chief Process Engineer. When the engineer is assigned to a project, reports to the Project Manager for all matters directly concerned with that project.
