Job Description:
|
The successful candidate will be act as the Lead Design Reviewer required to carry out checks on Contractor’s designs and to provide support and assistance on structural and technical issues pertinent to the Tunnels Project Teams. The Contractor’s designs will already be independently checked and the review required is an additional level of assurance for our clients, checking the appropriateness of calculations, software programs used and on engineering principles.
Under general supervision, they will independently apply advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represent the organization at project meetings if required to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations.
• Required to provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and would be consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretation

Specific Requirement:
|
Background:
An enthusiastic and capable engineer is required to work within our design team who is degree qualified and will have achieved Chartered status.
Working primarily with a team of mostly site based engineers within the Tunnels Projects the Structural Engineer will be required to have a solid background in structural engineering, including steel and reinforced concrete structures and experience of common structural materials, in particular steel and/or concrete framed structures. In addition, experience of underground structures and tunnels would be an advantage.
There will be opportunities to work in other areas of the business this will include offshore windfarms.
